WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FIT AND ESCORTED TOURS?
Tour packages are divided into two categories, FIT which stands for Foreign Independent Travel and Escorted where you are guided through your itinerary by qualified guides. Typically a FIT trip includes airfare, hotel and transfers. Some tours offer a drive package where you pick up a car upon arrival and drive yourself to and from each destination. Maps with points of interest clearly marked are available with little or no additional cost. The benefit of an FIT is your ability to make your own schedule and spend as much time as you want anywhere you want. Some tours offer flexible hotel reservations for the most flexibility in your itinerary.
Escorted tours include airfare, transfers, hotels, most meals and sight seeing. The bonus is knowledgeable escorts to give history and back ground information through out the trip. Sight seeing is included so admission to museums, gardens and other attractions are already included. This can be very important when traveling during "high" season when attractions tend to be sold out quickly. The theme of the Escort trip varies, we can help you find the tour that best fits your interests. This type of trip will include free time to explore on your own, however you are on a schedule.
What are meal plans? Tours will offer EP (European Plan or empty plate-no meals included) or All Inclusive or all meals and beverages included or a combination of both. The EP plan allows you to try the local fare in a variety of locations. All Inclusive plans allow you to pay for meals prior to leaving on your vacation. Resorts offering All Inclusive plans have different menus each day and at least one additional restaurant on property.
